Binge Watch Suggestion: Black Mirror

Every seen The Twilight Zone or any kind of shows with messed up stories and twisted morals, try watching a series like that only with technology!

Black Mirror is a British/American Science fiction Anthology series made by Charlie Brooker about the Usage of Advance Technology and How it affects us Psychologically. Each Episode is a standalone story with each containing a different setting, different characters, different story, and different types of technology and shows how deep the technology within the stories has its effect on the characters and how it changes them entirely.

Black Mirror has became a popular series within both the United States and Europe. Ever since the series came out, there has been merchandises, fan videos, art, ringtones, parodies, and many cultural references within other shows due to its positive reception.

There is also and interactive movie made on Netflix that is part of the series called Bandersnatch, where the viewer can decide the fate of the main character within the story.

If you want to take a look and watch at least one episode of this series, then it is currently available on Netflix with 5 seasons out.

Binge Watch Suggestion: Bojack Horseman

Bojack horseman was the latest series to have ended at the beginning of February. The main character is a talking horse in a world where humans and anthropomorphic animals co-exists with each other in modern times.

While the premise may seems odd at first glance, the show is actual about the main character trying to live his life as a Hollywood actor but is struggling with his mental health along with the side characters trying to overcome their problems including real life issues that the world today are also dealing with.

The TV show is an adult animated series that had gotten many positive reviews and won many awards including four Critic’s Choice Television Awards for best Animated Series, three Annie Awards, and two Writes Guild of America Awards.

I’ve been following this show while its third season was out and wasn’t really into it until I got to the Eighth Episode of the First season, which did not only proved that the show can be a master at drama, but that the animated series would be nothing that no one has ever seen before.

As of now, the series is on Netflix with all 6 season and 1 special and is both intended and aimed for a more mature audience. I would highly recommend binge watching this series first if you are choosing a show to start with.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
